Bridges Lateral Entry Program
KSDS designed the Bridges program to help students who enter KSDS in grades 1 – 8 seamlessly transition into the school. We provide academic support in General and Judaic Studies for all new students and individualized attention for those with little or no background in Hebrew and Judaics. We also ensure a successful social transition by helping students and their families effortlessly integrate into the KSDS community. Here is what the program offers:
Summer Workshops
Complimentary summer workshops to help new students transition to the KSDS curriculum.
Buddy families
KSDS matches new families with three current families based on student age and interests so lateral entry students have many opportunities to connect with classmates.
One-day August boot camp
Includes a crash course in navigating our hallways and routines as well as team-building activities to get comfortable with teachers and classmates.
Dedicated Hebrew Language Classes for New Students
In order to give new students the opportunity to learn to read, write, and speak Hebrew in a classroom environment that feels comfortable, and not intimidating, we offer a Hebrew language class in each grade level for lateral entry students only.
Ongoing support
One-on-one consultations with the Director of Bridges Lateral Entry Program for students and families throughout the transition period.
