MS Spirit Day & Yom HaAtzma’ut
The Middle School Spirit Day and Yom Ha’atzmaut celebration was a rousing success on Tuesday, May 10th. The weather was gorgeous and the students had fun competing in a friendly manner as they represented the 12 Tribes of Israel. Tribes rotated around 6 stations that included: Gaga, Apache Relay, Israeli dancing, Speed Puzzles, Cake decorating and Tug of War. Students were able to dunk their teachers for 25 cents/two throws and the money collected will travel with the 8th grade to Israel to be presented to Nala’ga’at – an Israeli tzedakah organization.
The day ended with a food festival consisting of felafel, pickles, hummus, sno cones and cake. DJ Isaac Woloff supplied the tunes outside and DJ Doug put on an entertaining family-feud style game show, testing our middle schoolers on their knowledge of Israeli history and culture.
Ultimately, the Tribe of Zebulun (blue) showed the most Derech Eretz and pulled ahead of all others to win the competition. Thanks to the 8th graders and the teachers for a fabulous Spirit Day and Yom HaAtzma’ut celebration!
