MS Learning Festival – Let the Games Begin!

This week is our annual Middle School Learning Festival – a 3-day period when we take a “break” from the regular curriculum and give students the chance to explore a theme or topic throughout the disciplines, in hands-on workshops and activities, while learning from the expertise of outside presenters.

This year’s Learning Festival is a celebration of the Olympics! Students are divided into groups, representing different countries who have had major impact on the Olympic Games. Following an amazing Opening Ceremony, including a torch relay, parade of countries and opening prayers offered by students from each country, students have participated in workshops and seminars about the Olympic mission, the original Greek olympic games (taught by our 8th graders), arts and the Olympics, Special Olympics, Jewish history and the Olympics, and much, much more.

Thank you to all of the teachers, parents and presenters, as well as the fabulously enthusiastic students, who have made this year’s Learning Festival such an amazing success!
