Enriched by Our Alumna

It is always a treat when KSDS alumni visit our classrooms to share their passions and enrich our students’ learning. Last week, Abby Grobani ’08, daughter of KSDS teacher Sally Grobani, joined Grade 7 Hebrew classes to talk about her recent volunteer experience in South Africa. A recent college graduate with a degree in Captive Wildlife Care and Education, Abby spent a month in the African Research Unit of Knysna Elephant Park where she studied and cared for the animals. Abby’s presentation connected to the Neta unit about animal communication, which the Grade 7 students are currently studying. Abby captured our students’ attention and curiosity with her deep knowledge coupled with fascinating photos and videos of her work in South Africa. And, in return, our students demonstrated their knowledge as well by posing thoughtful questions.
