A New Year, A New Mitzvah

On the first day of school, the 7th graders who will become bar mitzvah this semester began wearing tefillin, to gain practice, comfort and expertise in the mitzvah. One of the most visible differences once someone becomes bar mitzvah is the wearing of tefillin; students who had already learned how to “wrap” tefillin worked with those who were trying for the first time. Kol HaKavod (all the honor to you) to our students who embraced this ritual and experience with respect and enthusiasm.
