8th Grade Hanukkah Game Contest

8th Graders learned about the origins of the Hanukkah dreidel game, and then worked in groups to create their own new idea of a game of chance for Hanukkah. Groups then presented their imaginative, fun game prototypes before a panel of judges. Games were judged on creativity, educational value (how does the game help teach a Hanukkah message), and playability/fun. The game ideas were all creative, exciting, and strongly related to the messages of the holiday. The winning groups (a tie!) created a variation on Twister, and a new type of Chutes and Ladders using blocks to rebuild “the Temple.” Thank you to all of the 8th graders for your imagination and creativity!!
