Support Innovation In Memory of KSDS Alumnus Daniel Siegel ’03

The Sparks of Change Foundation, created in memory of Daniel Joseph Siegel, is a foundation dedicated to giving great ideas a chance to ignite change.  Its mission is to encourage change by providing seed money to young people with the integrity, spirit, and drive necessary to set their ideas in motion and create a better world.

The foundation’s official launch will be held this Thanksgiving, with an opening ceremony at the Barnes & Noble in Pikesville (1819 Reisterstown Road, Baltimore, MD 21208) on November 22 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. All are welcome at this opening event and are invited to see a demonstration by Daniel’s martial arts school, the U.S. Kuoshu Academy, and to have a sip of Daniel’s Drink – the white chocolate mocha!

Additionally, there will be a fundraiser at Barnes & Noble, which will run from Tuesday, November 22 through Sunday, November 27.

Suburban House (1700 Reisterstown Road, Ste. 105, Pikesville, MD 21208) will also be hosting a fundraiser during this time, which will take place all day Friday, November 25.

A percentage of the proceeds from both fundraisers will benefit the foundation.

Their website (sparksofchangefoundation.org) will be going live very soon.  Details about the foundation and its upcoming events, including instructions on how to participate in both fundraisers, will be posted.

Daniel was a 2003 graduate of Krieger Schechter who passed away last November after a lengthy battle with brain cancer. He was 22 years old at the time and a political science major at Yale, where he excelled both inside and outside the classroom.  We hope you will come out and support The Sparks of Change Foundation to honor Daniel Siegel’s memory and do your part in making the world a better place.
