MS Observes Yom HaShoah

Middle School students commemorated Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Memorial Day) in many ways this week. On Monday, 8th graders presented original artwork and poetry from their year-long visual journals as they studied the Shoah and visited the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. MS Choir also sang moving songs which helped set the tone for the day. In addition, a few 8th graders from KSMS, along with a few students from St. Mark’s School, presented their “Voices” production, during which they creatively re-told the story of survivor Rachel Bodner. Our students performed this presentation again later in the week for the students at St. Mark’s. Throughout the day on Monday, middle school grades also heard presentations from speakers who were survivors or family of survivors, to learn about their stories too. In a final Yom HaShoah program this week, MS Choir also performed again, this time for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid at their annual Holocaust Memorial ceremony.
