Hoshana Rabbah in the Middle School

Middle School students joined together on Wednesday to observe and celebrate Hoshana Rabbah – the final day of Sukkot. In addition to leading the prayer service, singing Hallel and completely running the Torah service, students had a chance to do a “hakafah” – a parade with lulav and etrog, as well as to participate in the unique Hoshana Rabbah ritual – beating the willow branches until the leaves fall off, as our final symbolic “casting off” of last year’s bad deeds.
