Award-Winning Israeli Woodshop Teacher Visits KSMS
Our school had the privilege of hosting Mr. Rafi Sulam on Thursday, October 14th as part of a special visit arranged by the World Zionist Organization to honor six teachers voted the best in Israel. A woodshop instructor at the ORT high school in Ashkelon, Rafi spent the day at KSMS designing and constructing Hanukkiot and bird structures with the students in woodshop. Many thanks to our own woodshop instructor, Mr. Vrzalik for working with Rafi!
Rafi also met with 7th graders and presented a video depicting life in his school and community where the students engage in a variety of volunteer projects in addition to their activities at school and work. It was a real treat for our students, who got to use their Hebrew skills since Mr. Sulam spoke to them only in Hebrew. Rafi looks forward to seeing our 8th graders in Israel in May.
