7th Graders Begin Study of Rabbinics

7th Grade students have now begun their semester of studying Rabbinics with an introduction to the format, scope, structure and content of the Mishnah. Students use critical thinking skills to interpret, categorize and make sense of the flow and sequence of a rabbinic argument. The material also makes for meaningful, important conversations in class to connect the ideas and values of the 2nd century rabbis to our lives as Jews today. As students continue through the semester, they will explore rabbinic topics related to business ethics, gossip, death and mourning and prayer.
