1st Grade – Cutting Edge Creativity
To a first grader, what is a rectangle? A three syllable word? A two-dimensional geometric figure? In art class, our students viewed rectangles as raw material to create wintertime collages. The first graders observed themselves in mirrors, then unlocked the potential of each rectangle to represent human forms, jackets and sleeves, boots, scarves and hats. The weather may be frightful, but the creativity is delightful!
