Student Services
After School Program for Excellence and Nourishment (ASPEN)
Offered for both Lower School and Middle School students, ASPEN provides additional support in all areas of our academic program. KSDS faculty, who are familiar with the KSDS program, curriculum and expectations, comprise the staff. ASPEN teachers work with students to reinforce skills in reading, writing, spelling, math and Hebrew, assist with homework, develop study skills, introduce organizational strategies and provide long-term project support. The teacher-student ratio is one to three. ASPEN is divided into approximately 6-week blocks.

Remediation and Enrichment
KSDS Lower School classrooms feature a teacher, co-teacher and various resource teachers who are content specialists in their subject areas. Resource teachers in math, reading and science are on hand to provide remediation or enrichment. These specialists ensure that the needs of students at all levels of ability are met and every student is challenged to the best of his or her ability.
Counseling
KSDS has a full-time school psychologist, Dr. Sharon Buck, to address specific classroom learning and behavioral concerns and develop support strategies for school and home. You can reach her at c2J1Y2tAc29pbmsxMi5rc2RzLmVkdQ== or 410/486-8640, ext. 255.
